For those unaware, I am spending 2 weeks in New York visiting Steven. I happen to be a morning person. Steven, however, is nothing remotely close to what could be labeled as a morning person. This always makes for interesting times when we’re together, usually resulting in me jumping awake when the alarm goes off while he rolls over trying to pretend nothing has happened. Perhaps what is even more interesting, though, is how different our morning routines are. Well, let me give you an example. Today is Sunday, which means I go to Mass. When Steven & I are together, he comes to Mass with me (’cause all the cool kids are doing it). This is about what our morning looked like today:
8:30.15 – Steve turns off his alarm & proceeds to roll over as if nothing happened
8:31 – I go shower.
8:31.01 – Steve falls back asleep
9:07 – I get out of the shower and look for clothes for Mass
9:18 – I pick out clothes for Mass and then get dressed
9:19 – I wake Steve up; he asks if it’s his turn to go shower – I tell him I have to do my makeup first but that I wanted to give him time to “wake up” first… he falls back asleep
9:19.30 – I put on makeup
9:25ish – Steve gets up & hops on computer
9:35 – I finish putting on makeup
9:36ish – Steve showers
9:40 – I notice a wrinkle on my shirt & skirt
9:45 – I find comfy clothes to change into
9:46 – I iron my shirt & skirt (yes, I brought an iron w/ me – be quiet)
9:50ish – Steve gets out of shower & emerges in a t-shirt & shorts
9:51 – Steve gets on the computer
10:07 – I change back into my freshly ironed clothes
10:08 – I straighten my hair
10:15 – Steve changes into nice clothes for Mass
10:16 – Steve rolls his eyes & goes crazy while waiting for me to finish getting ready
10:18 – I finish straightening my hair and proceed to find 200 other things I must do before leaving
10:23 – We leave for Mass, me hectically putting on my shoes & grabbing my purse as we head out the door
I simply do not understand how it takes men little to no time at all to get ready, I really don’t. Forget science & math – I want to understand why it is impossible for me to get ready in less than half an hour and why he only needs 15-20 minutes. Einstein should’ve tried to figure that one out. Hmmph. Bet he would’ve done more good for humanity, not to mention more praise & recognition for him.
I also put new pictures up in the gallery – the result of me being bored and Steven being present & apathetic.
